How It Works

What is a Kanban Board?

A Kanban board is a visual workflow tool that represents work as cards moving through stages. Originating from lean manufacturing at Toyota, it is now widely used for personal task management and software development to visualize progress and limit work in progress.

Using This Board

Add a card: Click "Add card" at the bottom of any column, type a task, and assign labels.
Move a card: Drag any card and drop it onto another column to change its status.
Edit a card: Click the pencil icon to change the text or labels.
Delete a card: Click the trash icon to remove it.
Labels: Colored tags help group cards by priority, type, or context.

The Three Columns

To Do: Tasks that are planned but not yet started.
In Progress: Tasks you are actively working on.
Done: Completed tasks.

Privacy & Storage

Your board is stored entirely in your browser using localStorage. No data is sent to any server, and the board persists when you return. Use Export to keep a JSON backup, or Import to restore one on another device.

Tip: Keep the "In Progress" column short. Limiting work in progress helps you finish tasks faster and reduces context switching.
